Average Chikowore is a seasoned Customs Specialist with the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority, bringing extensive expertise in customs administration, trade facilitation, and international trade policy. With a strong academic and professional background, he aspires to become a regional and global customs and trade consultant, contributing to policy development and efficient cross-border trade systems.
He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honors) Degree and advanced his academic journey with a Master of Corporate Governance and Professional Accounting from Great Zimbabwe University, in collaboration with the Corporate Governance Institute of Zimbabwe. To broaden his specialization in trade and customs, Average pursued a Master of Science in International Trade Law and Trade Policy with Lund University in partnership with Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa. He also earned a Certificate in International Trade Law and Policy with an African Perspective from Trade Law Centre.
Beyond formal academic qualifications, Average has complemented his expertise with specialized training in customs and trade through internationally recognized institutions. He has completed several professional courses with the World Trade Organization, the International Trade Centre SME Academy, and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. These include Customs Transit, Customs Risk Management, Introduction to International Transport and Logistics, Advocacy and Trade Policy Reform, How to Export under the AfCFTA, Building Port Resilience against Pandemics, and Climate-Smart Trade and Investment for Sustainable Development
Being passionate about enhancing customs efficiency and driving trade, Average combines practical experience with academic insight to position himself as a thought leader in customs and trade policy. His vision is to contribute to regional integration and trade facilitation, trade and gender, and capacity building for customs administrations and businesses navigating international trade.
